What is SOCIAL-Tx?
Social-Tx (SOcial & Contextual Impact on children undergoing Liver Transplantation) is a multi-centered study of children and adolescents who have had a liver transplant.
Why is the study being done?
This study is being done to understand how life circumstances, such as where we eat, sleep, play and work affect children's health as they undergo liver transplantation.
What are the aims of SOCIAL-Tx?
-- To characterize the association of adverse social determinants of health and outcomes after liver transplant in children.
-- Better understand how the health system can address adverse social determinants for children undergoing liver transplant.
Who is eligible to enroll?
We are enrolling children and adolescents that meet the following criteria:
-- Are younger than 18 years old
-- Are listed to have or have had a liver transplant

What happens if I participate in SOCIAL-Tx?
Participants in the SOCIAL-Tx study may be asked to:
-- Complete a survey via paper or REDCap that assesses for various social determinants of health.
-- Participate in in-depth interviews or focus groups (Via Zoom).
How long will it take to complete the study activities?
It will take about 25 minutes to complete the survey. If taking part in the Zoom interview portion of the study, an additional 65 minutes will be needed.
