Is my patient eligible to enroll?
We are enrolling children and adolescents into the study who:
-- Are younger than 18 years old
-- Are listed for or have had a liver transplant
-- Are willing to consent to SPLIT
How do I refer a patient to SOCIAL-Tx?
-- If you have a patient that you belive is eligible for this study, please ask the patient if you can share their name and contact information with UCSF to discuss the study.
-- You can share the patient contact information by:
-- Emailing [email protected]
Do I need IRB approval to refer a patient?
No - UCSF IRB has given permission for you to refer a patient and send their contact information as long as they have agreed to have their contact information sent to us.
Do I need to document that my patient has given permission to give UCSF their contact information?
If you would like, you may document in the medical record that the patient has given permission to share their information.
What will happen if I refer a patient?
After you refer a patient, we will reach out directly to enroll the patient into the study. The UCSF team will contact the patient's parents by phone or e-mail; we will review the study with them and obtain consent to proceed with study activities.
